The Aesthetics of Scent Award 2023

Submission Rules

Unlimited imagination is about to begin. Whether you are in the finals or not, you are a part of the creative force to drive the Thai perfume industry forward. This is a chance for everyone in the industry to together elevates the perfume industry.

Please read all the information and qualification as follows before registration.

CATEGORIES

Fashionable Fragrance Award

Qualification:

Fashionable Fragrance Award is suitable for perfume creation that works for the masses, easy to understand and straightforward suitable for the general public.

Qualifications for registering in Fashionable Fragrance Award category: 

  • Being a product that was on sale or launched within year 2022 only.
  • Being a perfume that the brand has created or employed service of a perfumer in the creation of, which the name of the perfumer engaged in the creation must be specified.
  • Not being a perfume that intends to imitate pre-existing perfumes already in the marketplace. 
  • Never been submitted to The Aesthetics of Scent Awards before.
  • Entrants may submit no more than 3 creations.

Artisan Award

Qualification:

The category for creation by sole perfumer or perfume brand owners, with aspects highlighting the artistry or unique characterization.

Qualification for registering in Artisan Award:

  • Being a product that was on sale or launched within year 2022 only.
  • Being a perfume that the brand owner created solely.
  • Not being a perfume that intends to imitate pre-existing perfumes already in the marketplace. 
  • Never been submitted to The Aesthetics of Scent Awards before.
  • Entrants may submit no more than 3 creations.

Thai Enhancement Award (Street Food 2023)

Qualification:

The field of competition where tasks are set to challenge the ability of perfumers or perfume brand owners. The challenge in the year 2023 competition is Street Food.

Qualification for registering in Thai Enhancement Award (Street Food 2023)

  • A perfume creation with the intended to presenting a story about street food. The creation could be new and never has been marketed or already on sale in the marketplace.
  • Being a perfume that the brand has created or employed service of a perfumer in the creation of, which the name of the perfumer engaged in the creation must be specified.
  • Not being a perfume that intends to imitate pre-existing perfumes already in the marketplace.
  • Never been submitted to The Aesthetics of Scent Awards before.
  • Entrants may submit no more than 3 creations.

Art Exploration Award

Qualification:

This field of competition suitable for perfumers who do not yet have their own brand. Wishing to introduce a new scent approach or identity to find the direction in a crafting of fragrance in the future and to test the market.

Qualification for registering in Art Exploration Award

  • A perfumer who sent in the work, is the only creator of the perfume formula.
  • Must be a perfume that has never been released or sold.
  • Submitted on a personal basis( If the contestant owns a brand, cannot be competed in this field of contest.)
  • Not being a perfume that intends to imitate pre-existing perfumes already in the marketplace. 
  • Never been submitted to The Aesthetics of Scent Awards before.
  • Entrants may submit no more than 3 creations.


Popular Vote Award

The category will be judged from all entrants that will be displayed during the Bangkok Design Week 2023 and general public will be able to cast their vote between 4-12 February 2023 (exhibition hours 11.00-22.00hrs).

Perfumes from every category can be voted in this category.

WHO CAN SUBMIT?

– All works can be from freelance perfumers, artists, and other occupations.

SUBMISSION RELEASE DATE

There are 2 rounds in The Aesthetics of Scent Awards 2023

– The first round is from voting by the visitors at Bangkok Design Week 2023 during 4-12 February 2023 (exhibition hours 11.00-22.00hrs).
– In the second round after the Popular Vote Award, all works will be evaluated by the judges in each category. Ten works in each category will enter as the finalists. Then the finalists’ perfumes will be exhibited to the public and mass media three days before the announcement of winners from each category in MAY 2023.
