The Aesthetics of Scent Award 2024

Submission Rules
The first official fragrance competition in Thailand.  We would like to invite all perfumers and perfume brands to witness this phenomenal event of the fragrance industry. Unlimited imagination is about to begin. Whether you are in the finals or not, you are a part of the creative force that drives the Thai perfume industry forward. This is a chance for everyone in the industry to together elevate the perfume industry.

There are a total of 5 categories. Please read all the information and conditions as follows before submitting the registration.

CATEGORIES

Fashionable Fragrance Award

Qualification:

Fashionable Fragrance Award is suitable for perfume creation that works for the masses, easy to understand and straightforward suitable for the general public. Scoring is based on the art of the scent and creative.

Qualifications for registering in Fashionable Fragrance Award: 

  • a. Not being a perfume that intends to imitate pre-existing perfumes already in the marketplace.
  • b. Being a perfume that the brand has created or employed service of a perfumer in the creation of, the name of the perfumer engaged in the creation must be specified.
  • c. Never been submitted to The Aesthetics of Scent Awards before.
  • d. Contestants can submit only 1 work per category.


Artisan Award

Qualification:

The category for creation by sole perfumer or perfume brand owners, with aspects highlighting the artistry or unique characterization. Scoring criteria are based on creativity presentation and techniques.

Qualification for registering in Artisan Award:

  • a. It must be a perfume created solely by the artist himself and does not use Fragrance oil or Perfume bases in the perfume formula.
  • b. Not being a perfume that intends to imitate pre-existing perfumes already in the marketplace.
  • c. Never been submitted to The Aesthetics of Scent Awards before.
  • d. If you receive a complaint about the use of fragrance oils, Contestants must be able to demonstrate their perfume creations to the judges.
  • e. Contestants can submit only 1 work per category.

Thai Enhancement Award (Oud,2024)

Qualification:

A competition field with missions to challenge the abilities of perfumers or perfume brand owners. The challenge in 2024 is to use oud to make perfumes interesting and unique. You can procure agarwood yourself or follow the event instructions which will be announced later. Scoring criteria are based on relevance. Presentation on the topic of Oud, techniques and creativity.

Qualification for registering in Thai Enhancement Award (Oud,2024):

  • a. A perfume work that was created with the intention of using Oud to make a perfume formula. It may be a new perfume that has never been launched to market or has already launched.
  • b. Must be a perfume that has been created without using Fragrance oil in the perfume formula.
  • c. Being a perfume that the brand has created or employed service of a perfumer in the creation of, the name of the perfumer engaged in the creation must be specified.
  • d. Not being a perfume that intends to imitate pre-existing perfumes already in the marketplace.
  • e. Never been submitted to The Aesthetics of Scent Awards before.
  • f. Contestants can submit only 1 work per category.


Rising Stars Award

Qualification:

This field of competition is suitable for perfumers who entered the contest for the first time. Wishing to introduce a new scent approach or identity to find the direction in a crafting of fragrance in the future and to test the market. Scoring criteria are based on novelty, presentation, and technique.

Qualification for registering in Rising Stars Award:

  • a. Must be a perfume that has been created without using Fragrance oil in the perfume formula.
  • b. Not being a perfume that intends to imitate pre-existing perfumes already in the marketplace.
  • c. First time submitted to The Aesthetics of Scent Awards.
  • d. If you receive a complaint about the use of fragrance oils, Contestants must be able to demonstrate their perfume creations to the judges.
  • e. Contestants can submit only 1 work per category.


Popular Vote Award:

The category will be judged from all entrants that will be displayed during the final event in 25-28 July 2024 at 4 floors MBK Center. There is an opportunity to vote until the day the awards are announced.

***Perfumes from every category can be voted in this category.

WHO CAN SUBMIT?

– All works can be from freelance perfumers, artists, and other occupations.

SUBMISSION RELEASE DATE

There are 2 rounds in The Aesthetics of Scent Awards 2024

– The first round is audition at Seacon square srinakarin Bangkok 08-12 February 2024.

– In the Final round after the audition, all works will be evaluated by the judges in each category. Then the finalists’ perfumes will be exhibited to the public and mass media before the announcement of winners from each category in 25-28 July 2024 at 4 floors MBK Center

Perfume Glossary

Fragrance oil: is a term used in the perfume industry. For concentrated perfume ingredients Before being diluted or used in products

Perfume base or just base (base): a mixture of natural and/or synthetic substances and/or other perfume bases which perfumers use as components of perfumes. They are often less complex than ready-made perfumes. They are also used to offer products that are very unique or protected by patents (called captive bases), including Accord.

Accord: is a type of perfume base that has special properties: A base that has been balanced (balanced) of various ingredients so that no smell of any raw material stands out much. Resulting in an interesting new scent.
